Egg Sharing Program

Egg donation has been a standard form of fertility treatment since 1984. This is a wonderful treatment option for older women, who have lost the ability to produce eggs of a suitable quality, and women with premature ovarian failure.
Egg donation can also be performed on women who have had multiple cycles of test-tube baby (IVF or ICSI) and have still failed to conceive or in young women who have undergone radiation or chemotherapy for cancer. Egg donation is also used in patients who are carrying major chromosomal defects so that they do not pass the genetic defect to their children
It is always better to bring your own egg donor with you but if not possible, our egg-sharing program may help you out.
This is a program where patients with infertility who are in need of IVF but can never afford the cost of an IVF treatment, are counseled to donate half of their eggs so that their IVF cycle fee is waived off. These are young women who are screened for regular IVF & this screen includes an infectious disease screen as well. On an average, we aim for the recipient & donor sharing about 7-8 eggs each. The anonymity of both-the donor and the recipient- is maintained so that they don't know each other.

In egg donation the chance of pregnancy is higher than in normal IVF treatment mainly because donors tend to be younger and more fertile than women seeking IVF treatment with their own eggs.

Synchronization of provider and recipient cycles is done so as to prepare the endometrium.
